Helen’s employer finds himself in the crosshairs when her boyfriend falls victim to the dangerous London underworld and asks Sam to protect her… Bingo, the owner of the guitar shop where Sam buys his guns, is played by Rat Scabies, a member of the band from punk classic The Damned.
It starts off very well
Featured in Graham Norton and guests: Cher/Keira Knightley/Michael Fassbender/Josh Brolin/Jalen Ngonda (2024). It’s one of those casual entertainers where you can’t really fault the acting and the production values are nearly flawless.
But John Le Carre it’s not
You think you’re about to be drawn in and seduced by a complex spy thriller. Instead, you quickly realize it’s neither serious nor funny.
As is so often the case these days, the lack of story is the problem
There are quirky characters and indeed characters with all the charm and conversational wit we expect from psychopaths. They might be related to Eve from Killing Eve, but those are bad cousins and don’t quite fit the gamut of psychopathic DNA inheritance.
Unfortunately, it could have been very disappointing
It’s a comical caricature of a spy thriller with a story built on a thin plot and frequent action scenes to fill in the gaps. Don’t waste time scrolling endlessly – here’s the full lineup of new movies and TV shows streaming on Netflix this month.
